The new Makita BCX2500 brush cutter is designed as the entry level 4-stroke machine for professional ground care operations. This new high performance, low vibration machine is powered by the first Makita-made, 24.5cc 4-stroke engine since the acquisition of the Fuji Robin engine manufacturing facility by the Makita Corporation. This highly efficient engine delivers 660watts of power, has electronic ignition and running on lead free fuel, meets all emission standards. The 4-stroke engine is quieter with a less intrusive engine note than 2-stroke machines, with a decibel rating of only 102.
The BCX2500 is a straight shaft brush cutter with handlebar controls. Machine vibrations are controlled by the anti-vibration system of engine mounting as well as the handlebar mounting and handgrips. These systems provide the ultra-low ratings of 2.2m/s2 for the right handgrip and 2.9m/s2 for the left handle, all with the engine at maximum operating speed. The throttle and on/off control is in the right handgrip. The low vibration rated handlebar controls offer the greatest machine control and this layout is preferred by professional operators.
The BCX2510 is a D-handle version of the same machine where the rear handle houses the throttle control. The D-handle configuration makes the brush cutter narrower overall and can be used with just a shoulder strap rather than the full harness recommended and supplied with the handlebar version which spreads the weight of the machine evenly across the shoulders for maximum comfort during long periods of operation.
The new Makita BCX2500 is supplied with full harness, cutting blade, 2-line head and tool kit.
